Venum Elite Model Review
Today we are reviewing one of the most popular Venum products – the Venum Elite Boxing Gloves. If you are fairly new to boxing or martial arts and you are looking to buy your first “serious” boxing gloves – then you are at the right place.
These gloves are certainly a very durable product and for sure are better quality than most of the boxing gloves on the market. We also included them on our list Top 15 Boxing Gloves in 2017.
About the Venum Brand
Venum is a world-wide known brand for their apparel and martial arts equipment. They have been manufacturing good quality boxing gloves and equipment with ranging prices for as little as 30$ to 100$.
You can always recognize the Venum fighting gear with its flashy, cool and intimidating style.
Check out the other Venum gloves we reviewed:
- Premium Semi leather construction
- Specific mesh panel placed under the fist for a great thermal regulation
- Triple Density foam
- Reinforced palm for a maximum absorption
- 100% full attached thumb for a better injury prevention
- Strengthened seams for a long-lasting quality
- Large Hook and Loop enclosure with elastic
- Long cuffs improving wrist protection
- Embossed Venum Logo (3D touch) on each boxing cuff
- Handmade in Thailand
These boxing gloves are designed for regular use. That means they are durable enough to last a really long time for someone who trains at the MMA/boxing gym 4 or 5 times a week.
If there is one thing we can say for sure that Venom mastered it’s the design – as always they offer an aggressive, luxurious design. There is a number of different colors you can choose from, so you can be sure that you will find gloves that fit your taste.
They definitely feel quite comfortable when putting them on and there is a pretty good support on the wrist area and also on the front parts of the glove.
The gloves feature an attached thumb that helps you in preventing you from catching your thumb on the side of an elbow, heavy bag, or pads.
Although they are not from real leather, the surface of the gloves is nice and soft, which is definitely a good thing if you intend to spar with those.
Also, they are a “longer” boxing gloves(opposite to the traditional Muay Thai gloves). That means that they extend more to the forearm, which in combination with the elastic hook and loop enclosure, provide you with great wrist support.
The Elites are definitely more comfortable than the Challenger 2.0s. However, the Elites are 20-30$ more expensive.
These gloves are a little bit larger than the most boxing gloves on the market and that might a problem if you have smaller hands. There is a little bit of extra room in the thumb and palm area and this may reduce the stability of the glove.
However, if you have bigger hands and some boxing gloves are tighter than you might like – this is a good advantage for the Venum Elite.
Additionally, the gloves are ventilated with a quality mesh panel covering the front. This allows a good bit of air to enter the inside of the gloves. Therefore, the sweating is a much less likely compared to other gloves.
Quality and Price
Pretty well-built boxing gloves with a premium feel for a low price.
If you are looking for a good quality, affordable, entry-level type of boxing gloves, these are a pretty good choice. With a price of 70-80$, you are receiving good look, durability, and comfort.
Although they are not from real leather, they most likely are going to last you a few years of regular use.
Also, these gloves are “Made in Thailand” which is definitely a good thing to see on boxing gloves.
